The 16th edition of Digicon6 Asia celebrated digital content creators and their films last weekend in Tokyo, Japan, with 40 regional winners vying for the top ten festival awards.
The annual film festival organised by Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc saw 1,000 entries from 10 countries, with a preliminary regional selection and competition that preceded the Digicon6 Asia Awards.
Viddsee BUZZ was graciously invited to cover the proceedings.
We had the chance to sit in a special sharing and screening session, meet some of the top digital content creators in the region, and attended a press conference after the awards night.

The judging panel comprised industry leaders in advertising, film and TV, game development and education, from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
They are: animation director Yuichi Ito, film & tv director Nao Kubota, Dentsu executive creative director Takuma Takasaki, broadcast & documentary reporter Kanae Takeuchi, Polygon Pictures president & CEO Shuzo John Shiota, director at the Japanese anime studio Production I.G Katsuyuki Motohiro, Mediacorp programming manager Kannan Karthik, animator & educator Shin Kai Chung, chairman at the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association Gabriel Pang. The panel was headed by actress director & producer Kiki Sugino, its lead juror.
‘GU’ received a special recommendation from the juror Gabriel Pang for its stylised storytelling of desperate girl who used an ancient Chinese black-magic spell to charm a lover.
