Sofia looked forward to marriage to liberate her from a life of being a prostitute, and Haris, her boyfriend, was willing to accept her as she was, unconditionally. She, too had dreams – she wanted to be a dancer as a kid. But as fate had it, she was forced into the profession to pay off her father’s gambling debt.
Being with Haris was a new dream. It was almost like a dream, as she realised that it could be too good to be true.
Marriage was her release, and a promise that she held dear to.
But meeting Haris’ parents was the realisation that she could never escape her past.
