As her husband groans yet again, Christina contemplates giving it all up. But the marital vows replay in her head.
Day and night, Christina has to care for her paralysed husband, cleaning him up and feeding him. The work never seems to end; just as she finishes one chore, yet another awaits.
Her dignity takes another blow when she has to sell their television set to make ends meet.
Only when her husband sleeps is she free to go out. Toying with the idea of liberation, Christina locks eyes with an attractive man at the convenience store. He follows her out the store.
The next day, the sold television once again sits on the cabinet. Christina’s husband can only imagine what kind of barter his wife might have engaged in to get it back.
