Her mother can no longer take care of herself. She switched roles with her mother. She’s the parent, her mother the child.
She’s become childlike and forgotten most things because Alzheimer’s had taken her. She daughter tends to her every need. It’s become a heartbreaking scene that she cannot get over.
She misses her mother and longs for the old person she was, but she copes from day to day.
One day, while she was out, her mother wanders out to the streets.
She returned home, confused and alarmed, and searched the streets for her.
They eventually find each other, and she finds an answer that leads her back to a time, when things were simpler and family came first.
All was not lost. They still had one precious memory together.
