A lonely artist from Hangzhou ventures into the big city for the first time.
An architectural firm recruits him to make simple logos for their company, a job that will surely eat away at everything that makes him a true artist.
This film depicts the struggle between making the art you were born to create and affording the supplies you need to make it. It does so with a soft cinematic tough, gently switching between mountaintop scenes of serenity and the cacophonous noise of the city.
In the end, he makes a choice but the stark ending shows you how he feels about it.
Jeremy’s won the Best Director Award for this short film at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.
