When the deadly Typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines in November 2013, over 7,000 went either dead or missing. Millions of people lost their homes and their loved ones. Over 27,000 people were injured.
Aside from financial loss and physical injuries, emotional trauma was also a significant outcome of the natural disaster.
Written and directed by Chloe Veloso, Dark Skies explores the impact of emotional trauma and mental distress caused by Typhoon Yolanda. Chloe Veloso is a Cebu-based filmmaker who is passionate about theater and is currently pursuing her M.A in Cinema Studies at the University of San Carlos.
The story in Dark Skies follows the emotional complexity of a young boy who has lost so much in life that he eventually loses faith in everything around him, including God. Strange things begin to happen when he deserts everything around him.
Dark Skies was the most-watched, most-loved short film last month, and it’s our June Viddsee Shortee!
