If ‘Clients from Hell’ memes is your guilty indulgence, you’ll love this web series about a social media marketing agency called ROFL.
(Yep. A company named after the acronym.)
ROFL is founded by Leonard Lee (played by George Young), a trust-fund baby who shunned his family’s business to start his own social media agency, inspired by a web-copy describing social media as “the next frontier”.

That introduction to Leonard’s character makes him sound like a complete dimwit, but his well-bred charisma and confidence does make his ignorance and naivety a little less insufferable.
This five-part, 20-episode mockumentary exaggerates and dramatises startups and its life cycle — everything that belongs in a how-to listicle: naivety, taking risks, innovation, faking it, fallibility, aggression, takeovers, negotiations.

What most listicles do not impart, however, is how trust and honesty is what holds the team together. It’s a tall claim to say Get Social was made to prove this point, but it’s very close to it!
But it’s full-on comedy, slightly absurdist, it has plenty of heart, a great cast of actors.

Also featured are Youtube stars Dee Kosh, Munah & Hirzi and really fun episodes where Leonard has a showdown with his nemesis, lessons in virality, and a storm-in-a-teacup dramas.
Get Social was directed by Robert Tan and produced by Ervin Han. The entire series premiered at 11pm on Thursday, 19 June on Viddsee!
