Alex is caught in an unnerving game of hide-and-seek.
His mother had left him waiting in a sprawling, deserted underground car park. He sets out in search of her, following the clanking of her heels and sporadic sightings of her red shoes and golden hair.
But it all leads him nowhere.
Alex encounters the only other human in sight — a security guard.
He visits the guard’s cramped quarters, and is unsettled by the old man’s fascination with cocoons.
He peeks into a storeroom and makes a chilling discovery: shelves lined with children’s shoes.
Alex turns to leave, but finds himself cornered.
“Where is Mother?” Alex demands.
Forced to grow up more quickly than he wants to, Alex confronts the dangers and uncertainties of a world without Mother.
