A dog has been kidnapped and will become someone’s dinner.
Nary sets out to search for her pet dog Iva when she learns that it is headed to the butcher’s. She sets out on a rescue mission with her friend Sophea.
She was forced to be cruel to save Iva.
It was a heartbreaking but most ideal outcome for them both.
‘Iva’ was awarded ‘Best Short Film’ at the 2013 Chaktomuk Short Film Contest, and was selected to screen at six other festivals in Vietnam, Canada, the UK, and the US.
The Chaktomuk Short Film Festival is held annually in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is organised by the film collective Kon Khmer Koun Khmer, which translates to “Cambodian Films. Cambodian Generations.”
