Alex is scared. Mother left in the car in an underground carpark and gave him strict instructions to stay. She doesn’t say how long.
He gets out of the car to look for her, wandering around and following the sound of her heels. He catches glimpses of her golden hair, but never her face.
Just when he realises he’s utterly lost, a security guard finds him and takes him to his lair promising to reunite him with mother.
This was the beginning of young Alex’s nightmare, which escalates when he realises that the security guard has a strange fascination with cocoons, and a closet full of kids’ shoes.
The time that passed seemed much longer than his terror, but unbeknownst to him, change was already happening.
‘Cocoon’ received the Citation Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Award of Excellence at the Canada International Film Festival.
