There’s been an emergency and Amanah is summoned home.

The school and her teacher understand her circumstances: the family is in a rough spot, and her father needs her help to tend to her bedridden mother.

But what’s expected of her is unspeakable. She’s dragged home reluctantly, wailing and tearful.

For two years now, the burden of the family was on father. Now, it’s all in her hands, because mother will find peace, at all cost.

To be a dutiful daughter was a tragedy.
