Growing up in a backwards town, anyone around your age is automatic grounds to hang out with, given the limited options. Even if they aren’t actually very nice.
Given a choice, this kid would rather not be in the presence of the mean bully. He extorts their cigarettes, beats them up and calls them vulgar names. Yet, he’s also the ideas man, the source of adventure.
Which is how he found himself paddling along with the rest of the boys on a quest to blow stuff up. The tenuous friendship reaches a limit when the bully belittles him into making a dangerous decision.
It’s time to stand up for himself. And the effect will be explosive.
