If his world ended that night, the stars certainly sent a sign.
Joel and his boyfriend were at a secluded campsite, wondering, whimsically, about the end of days. He pointed randomly at a word in a book, ‘gorilla’, it said, and that was the answer he would have to live with that night.
If he wanted clarity, he found it only that night. The next day, a suspicious girl appeared, with what seemed like an omen – she had a gorilla mask on her.
The skies were clear, and it sent a sign, clear as day.
‘Gorilla’ premiered at Palm Springs International Short Festival and screened at festivals worldwide. It won the prestigious Iris Prize in 2013.
