It’s lonely being a zombie. Other zombies leave you alone, for one. But mostly, there’s just not a lot to do. Karl doesn’t need to eat, sleep, or even breathe (he needs a shower, but he really shouldn’t if he wants to stay in one piece).
He tries to occupy himself, but it doesn’t quite work. He misses his beloved Gemma. He doesn’t know if she’s safe, if she’s a zombie, or even if she’s properly dead.
But hope flickers alive again when Karl accidentally turns on his old computer. Will he find a (internet) connection to Gemma? To anyone?
