For two men with complicated lives and histories, too much honesty was a bad thing.
Bruce met Rocky at a local club, and their relationship escalated quickly – fast enough to meet for drinks outside of the club scene.
Yet, Bruce chose to hold back and to hold Rocky back. He didn’t want things to get heavy so quickly. Confession and honesty could wait.
He couldn’t stomach it.
After another false start, and some drunken fumbling at the club’s bathroom stall, he realised that while ignorance was bliss, he couldn’t keep up appearances forever.
Not knowing worked for him. Not telling, ruined him.
