As a 999 call operator, emergencies like this were all too common. But each one had her fighting her helplessness to find control.
It was terrifying and thankless, and the number of fires to put out had no end.
Still, she reacted to each one bravely, the unsung lighthouse guiding stranded panicked ships back to safety grounds.
